Cushman & Wakefield is one of the world's largest commercial real estate services firms and delivers integrated solutions to landlords, tenants and investors.

The Challenge

The C&W UK Business Rates Management (BRM) Area provides a service to clients with large national real estate portfolios that includes the management and payment of business rates to local councils. The annual Rates Demand statements are mainly paper-based, requiring C&W’s Ratings Team to process over 10,000 demands from 400 different Government Departments and Councils over a two-month period, each council using a custom format.

The Solution

Rossum worked with the RPA integrator OpenBox to build a turnkey streamlined data capture process to C&W.

We delivered a highly accurate dedicated AI engine that we trained from scratch as Rates Demands contain entirely different set of fields than Invoices or POs.

The Benefit

The project was delivered within 8 weeks since the purchase approval. In production setting, 90% of documents are being processed without manual review.
