Building a Brand on Credibility

“Don’t believe the hype” as the song goes from Public Enemy. Too many times we find our expectations falling short. A disconnect plays out between what is being promised and what is actually delivered. 

This is especially true in the tech sector, which is often being driven by an insatiable quest to find the next big thing. Unfortunately, hype, exaggerations, and even outright misinformation is rife within our industry. 

An easy way to cut through this noise is to go to the source—customers. For me, and all those working at Rossum, building a credible corporate brand all starts with a “happy” customer experience. That’s why websites such as G2 and Gartner Peer Insights are so important. They provide a more objective perspective told through written customer reviews. 

For the past two years, Rossum has worked diligently to be acknowledged as the market “Momentum Leader” for optical character recognition (OCR) software. The company is a leading intelligent document processing (IDP) provider, which is the next big step in OCR technology. Last month, not surprisingly, we were recognized once again as the market “Momentum Leader.”

In addition, G2 chooses Momentum Leaders based on customer satisfaction and acceleration in user adoption – calculated using G2’s proprietary algorithms. G2’s assessments are influenced by user reviews and trending popularity across small, medium, and large-scale enterprises, as well as gains in social media and web mentions.

The old saying of never letting reality stand in the way of telling a good story, doesn’t apply here. Rossum has always advocated a no-BS approach to product marketing, and we let our customers do the talking. Buzz words and terms like “digital transformation”, “artificial intelligence”  and “automation” need to be put into proper context—that of the customer experience.
