Rossum Reinforces Commitment to Responsible AI with ISO/IEC 42001 Certification
Rossum, a leader in intelligent document processing, today announced it has achieved ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System.
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC – Rossum, a leader in intelligent document processing, today announced it has achieved ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System. This certification, the first international standard for AI management, formally validates Rossum’s long-standing commitment to developing and deploying artificial intelligence in a safe, ethical, and responsible manner, making it one of the first in the document automation space to do so.
“It’s not enough to just build powerful technology; we must prove it is managed responsibly,” said Tomas Gogar, CEO of Rossum. “This certification is a clear signal to our customers and the market that we are deeply committed to leading the charge for trustworthy AI. For us, responsible AI isn’t an afterthought, it’s core to our architecture.”
The principles of the ISO standard are demonstrated through tangible features built directly at every level of the Rossum’s platform. Its proprietary large language model, for example, is specifically designed to prevent AI hallucinations, ensuring the system only extracts information explicitly present on the document, a critical safeguard for transactional data.
The rigorous third-party audit scrutinized every aspect of Rossum’s advanced AI lifecycle, from data management and model development to deployment and ongoing monitoring. This process confirmed Rossum’s robust governance and transparent operational controls, providing customers with assurance that the platform adheres to globally recognized best practices, which is increasingly critical for regulatory readiness with frameworks like the EU AI Act.
“Our enterprise customers, including global leaders like Panasonic, Veolia and Bosch, operate in highly regulated industries and demand the highest level of assurance,” said Ondrej Krticka, VP of Legal at Rossum. “The ISO 42001 certification complements our existing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II attestations to create a comprehensive security and governance umbrella. It validates the rigorous work our team does every day to ensure our AI is not only effective but also demonstrably safe and compliant.”
