When should you consider setting up email forwarding?
Do you often receive documents that you need to process as email attachments? The easiest way to bring such documents into Rossum is to send them directly to the queue email address.
Some users, however, prefer to receive documents in a separate mailbox and forward them to Rossum from there. The most common reason is to keep the email address on your company’s domain. Please follow your email server’s guidelines to set up automatic forwarding to the queue email address in Rossum.
How to set up forwarding to Rossum?
- Email client’s configuration
The configuration process varies depending on the email client. This article will show you how to do it in Gmail. Please get in touch with your IT department if you use a different email client to see how you can set it up.
To set up forwarding in Gmail, open your email account, go to Settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP, and click on the “Add a forwarding address” button. Paste the queue’s unique email address and click on “Next”. The new window will pop up. Click on the “Proceed” button to continue.

- Receive the confirmation email
Once you add a forwarding address in Gmail, it will send an automatic email with the confirmation link to the queue in Rossum. Although Rossum doesn’t process emails without attachments, you can open such a message in email inbox and display its content with the confirmation link and code.

Click on the received email and copy the link you will find there. Then paste it into your browser to confirm this email address. Alternatively, you can also use the confirmation code sent in the same email.
Setting up forwarding from a company email
If you want to set up forwarding from a company email, first check if it’s allowed for your company emails. If it is, you can set it up and send the confirmation email to your queue. You will find all the emails in the Emails tab. Open the message and copy-paste the confirmation link you find there. Once it’s confirmed, the forwarding will be ready to use.
